Robo-Soccer
Have you ever wondered what would the post-Human generation look like; can the fantasy world of i-robots ever become a reality? Can robot ever overpower the Human dominance and develop their own culture, maintain one’s own communities?
We at ROBO-TRICKS in THINK’10 invite the best minds to compete, create Robots, and achieve the pinnacle of its growth, imagination, creativity because what we need is not powerful but the RIGHT idea.
Problem Statement:
ROBOSOCCER is an event of Soccer Robots wherein the task is to design a soccer Robot and to compete with your opponent soccer robots on an arena which is specially designed for the ROBO SOCCER match.
Soccer Robot Specifications: t;
· Maximum dimensions allowed : 30*30*30 cm.
· Maximum Weight: 5 kg (Battery weight will be considered if on board)
· Power : Max 12 V
The machine can be powered electrically only. Batteries if on board must be sealed, immobilized-electrolyte types (such as gel cells, lithium, NiCad, NiMH, or dry cells).
Use of damaged, non-leak proof batteries may lead to disqualification.
· The Soccer Robot should be remote controlled (wired or wireless).
· AC power supply will be provided on demand.
· The robot must fit the above specifications and the design and construction should primarily and substantially be the original work of the participants.
· Manipulator: The robots can have a manipulator to kick or dribble the ball, but it cannot enclose the ball.
.In case of wireless operation each robot must have two remote control(or a dual frequency remote control circuit) which can be switched to either frequency before the start of race. This is done to avoid frequency interference between the two competing robots in the final round of game.
If your robot is wired then the wire should remain slack under all circumstances during the competition. All the wires coming out of the robot should be stacked as a single unit. The wires should be properly insulated. The length of the wires must be at least 3m.
Team Details:
· Each team can have a maximum of 4 members.
· All the members of a team should belong to the same institution.
Arena Specifications:
· Arena will be a rectangular soccer field of 2.5*1.5 m2
· Two members of the team are allowed to stay around the arena.
· The balls used will be normal Table-Tennis balls.
. Goal: (Length x Depth x Height) 30 x 15 x 17 (in cm).
Floor: The floor is flat and would be green in color.
All dimensions in above figure are in m.
